Brittany and Darcy's classic and elegant wedding is what Cape Breton wedding dreams are made of - gorgeous ocean views and a beautiful couple celebrating their wedding and life together.
Darcy and I live in communities about an hour apart. We crossed paths in high school and remained friends through university. After graduating, Darcy moved to Fort McMurray and I moved to Calgary. When we were travelling home for Christmas in 2011, Darcy and I ended up being on the same flight home to Nova Scotia. We kept in touch all throughout that holiday and then arranged to spend New Years Eve together and that was the start of our relationship. Almost four years later, he proposed in our home in Fort McMurray by calling me upstairs and surprising me by being down on one knee.
There wasn't really a theme to our wedding, we just chose a bunch of pieces that we really liked and hoped it would all come together.
Darcy's mom Arlene, passed away only two weeks before our wedding, so we included a dragon fly pendant of hers to my bouquet to have a part of her with us on our wedding day.
Aside from the first kiss as Mr and Mrs, during our vows, there was a part Darcy did not realize he had to repeat after the priest and it ended up being a very funny moment. Jaclyn captured this moment perfectly and it's one of my favorite pictures from that day.
