The ocean breeze, sand under their toes and waves lapping at their feet was the perfect setting to capture Andrew and Jen's love. Both from the East Coast but living away, they knew that the ocean had to be a part their engagement session. Brittany from Hind Hart Studios photographed their intimate and playful nature.
How They Met
There were many times throughout our lives that our paths crossed before we truly connected. We both attended the same high school, shared similar friend circles and when looking back, we were even at many of the same events at the same time. It wasn't until we ended up in the same program at Dalhousie University though, that everything fell into place for us. In an attempt to get my attention, Andrew made the classic offer to help me with course work. At the time I did not take him up on that offer but he persisted and followed up by asking me out for coffee. I agreed and the rest, as they would say, is history.
Years later I moved to Calgary for work while Andrew was still completing his final year of school in Halifax. This worked to his advantage, as I had no idea he was secretly ring shopping. On a visit out west, he proposed while on a hike. He chose a secluded spot at the far end of a mountain lake surrounded by the most perfect winter wonderland backdrop high above Lake Louise. My answer, "Yes, of course!"
Andrew joined me out west six months later. Both of us were born and raised on the East Coast though, so it was important for us to have the wedding back home near family and the ocean. We have planned the wedding to take place at The Waegwoltic Club next to the Northwest Arm in Halifax and the reception to be held at the Marriott Harbourfront in early September of 2017.
